Retakes Compilation - First Mix CD ever to be released on Moodmusic Records in Autumn. We are organising a tour for that!

With RETAKE ONE Berlin’s Moodmusic label is kicking off a new Mix CD series. The first edition is being delivered by Moodmusic homeboy Dave DK.

The idea for the Retake series was born, when label head Sasse has released the Starstyling Mix on the occasion of the Fashion Week 2009, including only releases from the label.

RETAKE ONE contains some classic and new unreleased Moodmusic tracks as well as influential material from the past 10 years. Besides Dave’s edit off Sasse’s „Wrapper“ track (Penner + Muder Remix) the mix features three new exclusive tracks that will also be released on a separate 12“: Dave DK - Will Be Gone, Axel Boman – Cinquenta and Citycobra - Fresh Simple.

To present an 80 minute overview of his DJ style, Dave has handpicked some of his favourite tunes from his recordbox. To present a modern and organic sound, most tracks have been recorded from Vinyl, partly from Vinyl-only-labels.

With the focus being put not only on the music but also on the packaging and design, Retake One stands out in the present flood of mediocre media and music releases. Top designer Matthias Egil Last (awardee of „the world’s best designed newspaper“) has been called in for the artwork. No less than two photoshootings were necessary to come up with the final result. Last is also responsible for the design of the Watergate Mix CD series.

After his residencies at Tresor Club since 1999 as well as Panorama Bar since 2001, Dave DK has been a key figure in Berlin’s music community. Spinning nowadays regularly throughout legendary clubs in Berlin, Dave is also playing gigs all around the world.

Having released his first 12“s on Raum Musik in the late 90’s, the long players SENSORY OVERLOAD (2000 Müller Records) and LIGHTS AND COLOURS (2007 Moodmusic) were the highlights of his career which is now being crowned with RETAKE ONE.

FACTOR CITY 029: HOLGER ZILSKE, DAVE DK & EL_TXEF_A - Te guardo una tarde de sol

1. Holger Zilske, Dave Dk & El_Txef_A: Original Mix

2. Metope rmx

3. Undo rmx

4. Shelby Grey rmx

For Factor City’s 29th release "Te guardo una tarde de sol" we'’re pleased, once again, to count with

partners in crime Holger Zilske and Dave Dk, this time joining forces with the young spanish producer

from Gernika El_Txef_A. "Te guardo una tarde de sol" is an inspired tech house number full of luminous

pads and analog emotion organic and soulful electronics for the dancefloor. The E.P is completed with

remixes from different angles from Metope, Undo and Shelby Grey.

Metope, one of the heads behind Areal and IRR labels, shows his production skills using his analogical

savoir--faire to deliver a raw and stripped remix, smooth until it's final shynths explosion.

Undo gives to the original a classical Factor City touch, dreamy, powerful and epic at the same time,

adding hypnotic pads and an addictive bassline, a tested floorkiller.

Shelby Grey, the new signing to Factor City, was given complete freedom to re-interpret

"Te guardo una tarde de sol" and turned it into a dark and melancholic electro tune.

Dave DK presents Sonar 2010 Mix...

DJ & producer David Krasemann, better known as Dave DK has been making waves in the electronic music scene for a couple of years now, and now starting to emerge as a serious player. Since the early 90's he was fascinated by the upcoming techno movement, which eventually led to his own active initiation. 1995 was the starting point for the then 17 year old. Together with a longtime friend, Dave produced his first tracks and was involved in the organization of underground techno and house partys, constantly trying to spread and push new electronic music. Searching for new electronic sounds every day and having honed his skills as a producer in his chosen home Berlin, Dave released his first record on Müller Records in 1998. His DJ activities had been highly pushed since that time. In 1999 he became a resident DJ at Tresor/Globus club in Berlin, later on also at the legendary Panorama Bar.

September 2010 sees the release of Dave’s first Mix CD on Moodmusic called 'RETAKE ONE' and its excellent artwork can be previewed here: http://matthiaslast.com

There will be also a 12" with 3 exclusive tracks from 'Retake One', featuring Axel Boman, Citycobra (from Smash TV) and Dave himself. Here you get to mix on the Samurai.fm website!

04.02.2009 Florian Kruse - The Miracle (Dave DK Magic World Remix)

DA006 - THE MIRACLE / THRILL - (FLORIAN KRUSE)

TRACKLISTING
A1 Florian Kruse - The Miracle (Original)
A2 Florian Kruse - The Miracle (Dave DK Magic World Remix)
B1 Florian Kruse ft. Saara - Thrill (Original)
B2 Florian Kruse ft. Saara - Thrill (Vincenzo & Elmar Schubert's Satinsoul Remix)

Our first release for the new year comes from none other than producer extraordinaire and label regular, Florian Kruse. Picking up the deep and tech-y vibe where his (occasional) studio partner Nils Nurnberg left off, we are proud to present this double A-side EP comprised of "Thrill" and "The Miracle". Both of these productions bear all the characteristic attention to melody and groove that Florian is quickly becoming known for while also keeping one eye firmly fixed on simple and effective dancefloor functionality!

First up on remix duties, Dave DK turns out a solid and inventive re-work of "The Miracle", utilizing the original's chords and stabs and working them into another of his signature productions. Already receiving some serious attention from a variety of DJ's this is sure to appeal to those who value true, deep and timeless electronic house music.

Completing the package in fine (German) style, we've pulled out all the stops and drafted Florian's older brother Vincenzo and his acclaimed studio partner Elmar Schubert for remix duties on "Thrill". Arguably one of the most beautiful and emotion-evoking productions in our catalogue, the guys have crafted a sparse yet sophisticated re-interpretation that is sure to cause a stir on many a soundsystem (and quite a few dancefloors) over the coming months!

So there you have it, Florian's first solo outing on the label and what a start it is!! With a little help from his friends (and family) Florian and we at Dieb are proud to present a truly original and fresh collection of productions and offer a small insight into what we have in store for you in 2009!

Sasha - Dave DK mix is the one for me

Mic Newman
Audio On Loan Incl. Dave DK Remix

First in a series of digital only releases on Dirt Crew Recordings is Mic Newman, a new exciting
talent from Melbourne Australia who has been doing proper remixes and releases on labels like 8 Bit, Great Stuff and Vicious Grooves. He also made a great remix for Booka Shadeʼs Charlotte last year which was released on Get Physical. Here on Dirt Crew he presents three new tracks that are pure dancefloor burners and will go down well in any techno/ minimal set. We have been playing them out ourselves in the last few months and crowd reactions are always very positive. The track „I Know Your Face“ was co-produced by Mike Buhl, another great talent to emerge from the Melbourne scene. We think these young men have a great future ahead of them and we are happy to have them on board. We also included a very strong Dave DK (Moodmusic/ Playhouse) remix to support this release. Dave has been a close friend of us for years now and we are very happy to have his first contribution on our label. One of his strongest remixes to date !

29.04.2008 DAVE DK "VOLAR" Moodmusic

Photobucket

Fresh from the Dave DK album "Lights and Colours" is 'Volar', his collaboration with Alex Krüger aka Tigerskin, which comes with the heaviest of remix packages!

Dave asked his favourite producers and got a select bunch of superstars on one record. Ms Jools from London delivered a super dope housey but still techy workout with stabby synths and an amazing snare that will blow your mind
.
Next up is Holger Zilske aka Smash TV, Dave´s longtime production partner and drinkin buddy, who injects some of his analog love into "Volar". The onslaught never ends it seems when he unleashes one of his trademark Oberheim pad-attacks with enough chunky deepness to rock any club.

Last but not least we get Mr Sascha Funke to deliver his trademark deep but techy workout which uses a string part from another Dave DK album track, "Stargazer" to full effect.

To complete the pack we include the original "Volar", which sounds amazing on a big system with its pulsing bass and throbbin synth stabs.

A truly excellent release from a truly excellent label. Moodmusic nail it again!
